This Privacy Policy applies to www.safaria.lk, to any additional online or offline marketing material we produce, and to any personal information you share with Safaria ( “we/ us/ our” ) when booking or enquiring about our safari experiences, cabana stays, photography tours or other services.

Using our website, emailing us, calling us, filling out our contact form, or otherwise communicating with Safaria means you consent to the practices described below. We may update this Policy from time to time; any changes will appear here with a new revision date.

1. Who We Are

Safaria (registered in Sri Lanka as Safaria Experiences (Pvt) Ltd) operates eco-friendly safari and accommodation services around Wilpattu National Park and adjacent reserves such as Kala Wewa Sanctuary.

4. Sharing Your Information

We share only the minimum data required—and only with:

  • Trusted service partners (safari jeep operators, lodge staff, charter-flight companies, park authorities) so they can deliver the services you requested.

  • Professional advisers (accountants, auditors, IT hosts) under confidentiality agreements.

  • Regulators or law-enforcement if we are legally obliged.

We never sell or rent your personal data.

5. International Transfers

Our booking systems and email servers are hosted in Sri Lanka, and some cloud services may store data in the EU, the United Kingdom or the United States. We rely on contractual safeguards (standard contractual clauses) and secure providers to protect your information abroad.

6. Data Security & Retention

We employ SSL encryption, access controls, and staff training to keep your data safe. While no online transmission is 100 % secure, we follow industry best practice.

  • Retention: Booking records are kept for 7 years (tax & legal obligation). Marketing consents are stored until you unsubscribe. CCTV at our cabanas (public areas only) is retained for 30 days unless needed for incident review.

7. Your Rights

Subject to local law, you may:

  • Access the data we hold on you

  • Correct inaccuracies

  • Delete data no longer required

  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time

  • Complain to Sri Lanka’s Data Protection Authority or, if you are an EU/UK resident, to your local supervisory authority

Safaria’s site may contain links to external websites. Their privacy practices are outside our control; please review each site’s policy before submitting data.

10. Marketing Materials & Media

Photographs or video taken by Safaria guides during your safari may feature you incidentally. We may use such imagery for future marketing only with your verbal or written consent obtained on site. You can opt out at any time.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Policy. The latest version is always at www.safaria.lk/privacy. Material changes will be highlighted on our homepage or sent via email where practical
