Terms and Conditions

Safaria Experiences (Pvt) Ltd (“Safaria”, “we”, “us”, “our”) offers tailor-made safaris, photography experiences, and eco-lodging in and around Wilpattu National Park and other wildlife destinations in Sri Lanka.
The following Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made through us, including inquiries and confirmations made via our website, email, WhatsApp, or third-party platforms.
1. CONTRACT
By making a reservation with Safaria, you (“the client” or “guest”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by us, confirmed in writing.
Where Safaria acts as an agent for third-party providers (e.g. jeep operators, guides, wildlife bungalows, national park authorities), the terms and conditions of those third parties will also apply to your booking.
2. BOOKING PROCEDURE
A booking is only considered confirmed once:

You have paid a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total price; and

You have received written confirmation from Safaria of your itinerary and services.
For bookings made less than 60 days prior to travel, full payment is required at the time of booking.
The individual who makes the booking (the “Lead Guest”) agrees to these Terms on behalf of all participants included in the reservation.
3. PAYMENT TERMS

Full payment must be made at least 60 days before arrival.

Payments can be made via bank transfer (LKR or USD), credit/debit card (via secure link), or other agreed-upon methods.

All transaction and bank fees are the responsibility of the client.

If full payment is not received on time, Safaria reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.
4. CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel your reservation for any reason, including travel disruptions or personal emergencies, the following cancellation charges apply:
Important:

National Park permits, inside Wilpattu bungalow bookings, and third-party activities (e.g., Kala Wewa elephant safaris) are often non-refundable.

In case of cancellation by Safaria due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, park closures), we will offer you the choice of a rescheduled trip or full refund.
5. TRAVEL INSURANCE
It is your responsibility to purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering:

Medical emergencies

Trip delays/cancellations

Personal injury and belongings
-
Natural disasters or park closures
Safaria is not liable for any losses arising from missed flights, transport delays, or personal emergencies.
6. HEALTH & SAFETY
By confirming your booking, you declare you are physically fit for the planned safari. It is your responsibility to inform us of:

Allergies or dietary restrictions

Medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate

Any special assistance required
7. THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS
We work with carefully selected local operators and guides. However, Safaria is not responsible for the actions or omissions of any third-party supplier, including delays, cancellations, or accidents beyond our control.
8. LIABILITY & INDEMNITY
Participation in a safari inherently involves some risk. You accept that:

Wildlife encounters, outdoor environments, and road travel may pose hazards.

Safaria, its employees, and partners are not liable for injuries, losses, or damages unless due to gross negligence.

You participate at your own risk and agree to indemnify Safaria against any claims arising from your trip.
9. CHANGES BY YOU
Changes to confirmed bookings (e.g., date or itinerary modifications) are subject to availability and may incur administrative or rebooking fees.
10. CHANGES BY SAFARIA
We reserve the right to make changes to itineraries due to weather, wildlife activity, national park regulations, or safety concerns. In such cases, we will offer suitable alternatives or partial refunds if a key service is unavailable.
11. MEDIA USE & PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
Photos or videos taken during your safari may be used by Safaria for marketing, unless you explicitly opt out in writing. We respect your privacy and will honor any such requests.
12. GOVERNING LAW
These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
